About Me

Hi, my name's Libby and welcome to my blog. So if you're new to my blog or visit regularly (and just want to find out more about me) then here is a bit of background information about me.

Who taught you to sew?
I originally learnt how to sew by hand at Guides but expanded on what I had learnt at home, using my Mum's scrap pieces of material. Then, when I was about 10 or 11, my Mum taught me how to use a sewing machine and once I started high school my teachers helped me to improve my technique. So really a combination of people taught me to sew but my original love for sewing definitely came from my Mum.
Why do you love sewing?
I love how I can make something personal, that's one of a kind. Also I find it really difficult to find clothes that fit me on the high street, because if they fit my hips, then they're too short and if they fit me length wise then they're too large for my hips. Therefore, being able to sew has really helped me create a wardrobe that fits me perfectly.
When are you most inspired?
As you can tell by my blog name, I really enjoy that moment when you get inspiration to create or do something (even if I sometimes don't follow up the idea). I mainly get my inspiration from what I see around me, whether that be in a shop or on the internet or just other random things. I also find that I get my best ideas when I'm just about to fall asleep (which can be really annoying)!
Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging because I really wanted to share what inspires me with the internet. I thought maybe it might help someone, but what I've learnt whilst blogging, is that it is an amazing place for me to get to know you and what you find inspiring. Now I find that I gain more inspiration from you, than I could ever have imagined. So if I you where to ask me why I blog now, I guess my answer would be that I blog so that I can engage with like minded people who love sewing too.
